PELVIC VESSELS AND LYMPH NODES

The main vessels originating from the heart divide into two within the pelvic cavity, traveling towards the legs and passing near bony structures. This creates a network of vessels that nourish organs such as the uterus, ovaries, colon, and bladder. The pelvic sidewall is lined with structures containing vessels, nerves, and lymph nodes. Therefore, bleeding may occur during surgery due to vascular injuries, necessitating blood transfusion.

Since gynecological tumors can metastasize to the lymph nodes located in the pelvic side wall, lymph nodes are removed during surgery in necessary cases, and according to the final pathology result of the patient, postoperative chemotherapy and radiotherapy may be considered in cases where a tumor is observed in the lymphatic structures.
